Chapter 11; And the wicked Shall be punished

Cara closed her eyes trying to mentally prepare herself for what was to come. She knew that someday this would happen. Samantha Jones had been a wedge between her and Riddick in some ways. She knew that it'd stay that way until Riddick could see her again. Cara didn't fear it, she knew there were things Riddick needed to tell Sam. But she never imagined the hate and fury she'd just seen in him would be brought about. He'd said Sam was a part of his past, not future he'd said. Then why this fresh look of wanting to draw blood she wondered.

"It's not what you think" Riddick said and she calmly opened her eyes. She looked at him, the anger was still there but something else. What was that, sadness?

"What?" she asked quietly.

"It's not Sam, I don't want you to think it's Sam. She'd never be able to bring about that strong of a reaction in me again, I don't care enough for her to" he said.

"Then what was it?" Cara asked quietly.

Riddick drew in his breath and Cara followed his eyes. She looked into the corner of Sam's opponent, the woman had starting pale skin and black hair that hung long and full. She was pulling it back into a pony tail at the moment.

"Who is she?" Cara asked him.

"The first person in a long time that I've truly wanted to kill" Riddick said hatefully.

Cara laid her hands on him, "Don't it isn't worth it" she said to him. He gritted his teeth and sat back as the fight began.

-----

When Sam saw her opponent for the first time her head spun. Memories and images flooded her mind. Hate ruled most of them though. She thought she could literally see red for the first time and her breath felt like the flames of the hottest fire.

"Sam, what the hell is wrong with you?" Seth was asking shaking her shoulders.

"I'm going to kill her let me at her" Sam said with meaning.

"What the hell are you talking about?!" Seth asked shaking her harder.

"Nothing, nothing at all" Sam said calming down.

Visions of Riddick standing there barely hanging on as Jack and her were being taken away played through Sam's mind, she remembered the treatment she'd been made to go through and the laughter that had rang through her ears. Her blood boiled feverishly in her veins as she started calming herself inside and out. She need to be level headed so she could calculatingly rip her opponent apart, limb by precious limb.

-----

"Stop!" Jack screamed and everyone in the cab jumped. "Sorry everyone, excuse me. Driver please take us to the Arena" she said quickly.

"Fight started 20 minutes ago lady" he told her.

"I know damn it just get us there please" she yelled and everyone again looked at her.

"Alright I will but I'm telling ya the fight will be over by the time we get there, them ladies don't last long in the ring before one of em tears the other one apart" he said.

"We can only hope to get there in time to see scraps of red hair being vacuumed up off the matt" she muttered and Brianna shot a look at her.

"Sorry" Jack said quietly.

Brianna and Dillion were squashed in the cab with Jack and Harry, Lissa was at a friends house where she would stay until the next morning when they picked her up for the wedding.

"What's going on Jack?" Dillion asked.

"Your sister has entered a boxing match at the Arena, Riddick and Cara are at it as well. I tried to stop them from attending it but couldn't. I didn't want to tell them why I didn't want them going, and I don't know suddenly I just can't help it but I've got this feeling and I need to get there" Jack said a little breathless.

Brianna nodded. She knew something was wrong as well, she could feel it. Jack looked at Brianna and both had the same thought, "She better not hurt him".

Brianna had struggled with her inner feelings towards her daughter but finally when Sam left the last time she came to a simple conclusion; let it go. She'd watched Riddick go after her and talk to her, she'd watched him time after time offer her everything she needed but she shoved it back at him and ran from it. The last time was to much and Brianna couldn't bear to watch it anymore. Riddick needed a mother and she found herself needing a child. They were a match made in Heaven.

Sam had proven time and again that nothing would break her, so Brianna didn't worry for her. Riddick on the other hand she'd fight tooth and nail for. She'd watch him become a broken man before her eyes, weeping for the loss of a child he'd loved more than life, then to a man of steel and dedication. He'd dedicated his life and time to Jack, Dillion and herself.

Then one day he wondered home with Jack holding Cara against him and Brianna saw something in him she'd never seen before; wonder and awe. He was in complete wonder and awe of Cara and it continued to grow and blossom with time. She had long let go of trying to tame and fix Sam, Sam didn't want to be fixed and that was all there was to it.

She wrung her hands around one another, if she hurts him I'll wring her neck myself Brianna thought. Trash your life if you want dear daughter but I won't allow you to do it to him, not when he actually cares about living it she thought to herself. They pulled up in front of the arena and rushed in as quickly as they could.

-----

Riddick and Cara had watched the fight with relish and with nerve wracking anticipation. It was more than just a sport or healthy competition for them. Anyone else watching probably assumed that these two were extremely into their competition but Riddick knew different. That was war going on down there in that ring. A war that had been boiling for years.

Sam fought for her name and the prison she now lived in. She fought for the life that was stolen from her, the spirit that was broken and ultimately the function of living. She'd been dead for years, now she was face to face with the person who'd caused it and she'd come alive for the first time in years.

Riddick could see the light in her eyes it was vibrant, he could see her movements fluent and strong. She was the Sam he'd met nine years ago full of fire and passion and ruled with her mind not heart. Right now her mind told her hate was right and that this war would end tonight and one way or another.

-----

Jack practically ran around the arena insanely trying to find an entrance into the ring area. Finally they found it and as they rushed in they couldn't see a thing. All the spectators were on their feet screaming and yelling in a maddening frenzy. The electricity in the air almost choked her and she felt she was inches away from snapping. Her heart thudded in her chest, she didn't know why she just knew there was something wrong and she needed to find her father.

All at once everyone went quiet, you could have heard a pin drop and Jack froze and for the first time looked in the ring. Sam laid motionless on the matt, her eyes still open but frozen and above her stood a woman with eerie purple eyes.

Jack's blood was screaming through her veins. She watched as Sam was moved onto a stretcher and was taken off the matt. Brianna and Dillion had run to find out about her. Jack stood frozen for a moment and watched the woman with black hair and purple eyes except her trophy and then walk gallantly back to her room. Without a second thought Jack took off after her.

-----

Riddick had seen Jack a second before she took off. "No!" he yelled then shot off after her, Cara hot on his trail. Riddick saw Jack turn off into a room and he halted for a moment. Cara stopped short right behind him. They slowly crept to the door.

-----

Jack stepped into the room and the woman's back was turned to her. "Hey" Jack said and she turned around. Her eyes gleamed metallic purple when she saw Jack.

"Hey" the woman said in a deep voice.

"Enjoyed the show?" she asked Jack.

"Nope, I would have rather taken her down myself, no one deserves the humility of having a spineless piece of shit like you take them down. My guess is that it wasn't even fair, Sam wouldn't have let you take her down that easily. What, did you drug her?" Jack asked.

"Nope, pixie dust" the woman said.

Jack clenched her jaw. Pixie dust is a powdery formula when throw into the eye causes temporary blindness and disorientation. "Detra" she hissed and then lunged.

-----

Riddick entered a soon as he heard Jack say her name. But he was a second to late. Jack had jumped at her clawing and tearing the second she'd felt her hand touch flesh.

"You took months of my life away I can never get back!" she screamed as her nails shredded bits of Detra's face away.

"You broke my fathers heart" she roared as she beat mercilessly into Detra's face.

"You made Brianna almost die of heart break" she screamed grinding her knees into Detra's sides.

"You're nothing, you'll never be anything but a constant thorn in anyone's side. I hate Sam for lying, I hate Sam for breaking my dad, I hate her for leaving everyone that loved her but at least I can respect her. She gave my dad the freedom to love someone who deserves it and who can give back. Your actions bring nothing, I could kill you but I've got to much respect for the demons and sinners in Hell, besides I think Hell's to good for you, you should burn a while longer here on earth!" she yelled and lost herself into the madness.

Detra had no chance against Jack. Years of fury and hate built up inside her were let loose. Jacks war was poured out onto Detra and even Riddick couldn't stop it. No one could. Jack's body was a portal of eternal anger and hurt. She was a mad woman who wouldn't give in unless she was dead.

By the time Riddick pried her off Detra she was covered in blood. Detra was long past being unconscious. Her body was battered and broken, God only knew if she'd recover. When Jack came back to herself she felt pieces of flesh embedded under nails and her face and clothes were splattered with blood. She shook from pleasure and pain and her mind screamed in relief.

Suddenly she collapsed into tears. "Sshhh it's ok baby, it's ok." Riddick said trying to soothe her.

He looked at Cara and she reached for him, they both wondered the same thing; 'would it be ok?'
